Pressure washing

Pressure washing in South Orange County

The right pressure for the surface, not the highest one available.

Concrete, pavers, stucco, wood and tile all clean up differently, and each of them can be permanently damaged by someone using the wrong tip in a hurry. Etched concrete, furred timber and blown-out mortar joints do not come back.

Dan matches pressure, tip and distance to the surface, works in a pattern so there are no stripes left behind, and treats organic growth and staining rather than just blasting the top layer off it.

On the coast this is maintenance, not cosmetics: salt film and marine grime hold moisture against a surface, and the longer they sit the more they stain and grow.

Anyone can rent a machine. Knowing which surfaces will be damaged by it — and washing those a different way — is what keeps a driveway from ending up permanently striped.

Common questions

Will pressure washing damage my pavers or stucco?

It can, at the wrong pressure. Pavers lose joint sand and stucco loses its finish under a narrow high-pressure tip, so both get washed at lower pressure with a wider fan and more patience.

Can you get graffiti off a block wall?

Usually, yes — it depends on the paint and how long it has been there. Send a photo and Dan will tell you honestly whether it will come clean or whether the wall is better off painted.

Do I need to be home?

Not for exterior work, as long as he can get to a tap and to the areas being washed.
